Overdue!

Last Sunday, Dear and I slept till about 2pm, then moped around at home being lazy before we finally plucked our lazy butts out and reached town at around 6ish. He managed to find yet another pair of G-stars that he liked at Paragon, and bought it without hesitation (though it was a pretty comical scene, given what had happened there. ) HAA HAA, i shall save u a little face and not mention it here my dear. *Chuckles He then decided to take me to Via Mar @ The Esplanade, a Spanish Restaurant to try the Much talked about (by Dear himself) Spanish rice. He's been raving about it quite a coupla times already, and he did try it before, so off to Via Mar we went. For Starters, we decided to settle for an all Greens salad (Sorry i seriously can't recall the Spanish name for it, too long. lol! )It was made up of mostly Green Peppers, Onions, Broadbeans, Chickpeas, a long bean kinda veg, EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL[ my ULTRA FAV],and there was this slight dash of something something that made it all a li'l sour, yet very, very appetising. The portions were generous, yet just right for two. THEN, the Spanish Rice. It came in a pizza sized pan, and the actual serving portion feeds 3-4 persons. We had Paella De Mariscos - Seafood Paella ![]() "Paella, a traditional Spanish dish of moist saffron flavoured rice, marries the Mediterranean flavours of broth with olive oil, green peppers, seafood or meat that will be the centre of delectable dining" Ours didn't have green peppers in it, as it was the seafood one. A mix of fresh succulent chunks of Fish and Squid, Onion slices, large juicy Prawns, wedges of hard-boiled egg, small slices of what looked like a fusion of pepperoni & salami ( For the taste enhancement of the dish we concluded, like how the Chinese would use small pieces of salted fish in dishes.) Cooking time, approximately 25mins. It was AWESOME! A dish to die-for, in my words. The seafood was fresh, prawns juicy, squid springy, and the fish tasty. Every grain of rice absorbed the gravy it was cooked in. For the first time, i actually finished whatever sweetheart put on my plate, and i think i even ate more than him. YES. Even Dearie could tell i was enjoying every bite of it. haa. Given the fact that i am not and was never a rice lover, I finished it all and was even scraping the sides and bottom of the pan for the burnt rice (somewhat like claypot rice, hurhur). With a glass of Chardonnay each, it perfectly complemented the seafood, bringing out its wonderful taste and all the flavours of the dish with every mouthful we took. While ordering our second round of Chardonnay, Dessert was served to us, on the house. How wonderful, it was none other than Tiramisu.. my favourite. =) The first bite came with a hint of Orange, lingering on your tongue even after you've swallowed the load. How brilliant of them to have infused the essence of orange into Tiramisu, giving a subtle yet splendid Zing to it! And it wasn't even on the menu, as told to us by the manager. Lucky Us! Teehee. The restaurant was rather spacious, the ambience was great and the service was impeccable. Needless to say, company was First Class. =) All in all, it was a meal to remember. Best of all, I had the one man i Love so dearly with me for company. He will always be the best accessory one could ever have, the finishing touch for everything lovely and beautiful. I Love him; and He, is none other than You. You, my love. ***I can never thank you enough dear, for taking me to many places which i have never been to before, trying things or food i've never tried before.. You've opened up a whole new world for me, a world which i never knew of before you came along. The feeling of being cared for, being pampered by someone, being loved deeply by someone, is unexplainable. If possible, i want to keep trying , and exploring new places and things together with you.. For as long as we can, For the rest of my life. I do. |
